TOUGH TOYS FOR TOUGH DOGS
Never in my life, did I understand how enormous the dog toy market is until I owned my own dogs. There are all different types, colors, shapes, sounds, material etc.
To me, a dog “toy” serves one of the following purposes:
• Fetch
• Chew
• Tug
• Mind Game
I have gone through so many toys in my home. I can’t express my frustration enough for how hard it is to find toys for aggressive chewers. Companies need to stop calling their products durable, strong, or tough if they are not. I swear they must test their toys with Yorkies before they make their claims. The strength of my dogs jaws amazes me, especially my dog Jayden. Piece by piece he rips everything to shreds. I assmune all pitbulls have strong jaws and the urge to chew, so good toys are very important.
It is very difficult to find an indestructible dog toy, but I have found a few that hold up very well in my household.

Ruff Dawg
Doggles Pentapulls - These are great for tug between an Owner and their dog or two dogs that are not aggressive and under supervision. My dogs have not been able to tear it and it is in perfect (but dirty) condition after a year in my house.
Extreme Kong - The black kong products are meant for the aggressive chewers. The black kong is the only one that has lasted in my house with adult pitbulls.
Kong Wubba - These are tough and good for a fun game of tug between you and your dog.
Kong Ball - This red ball is a perfect size so that a dog can probabaly fit it in its mouth but can't really chew on it. It is very tough and has survived my dogs.
Nylabone - Durable Nyladones are great for aggressive chewers, the only negative is that some dogs don't care for them. None of my dogs liked Nylabones at first. Now, they love them. I think it may be becasue they are older, with all of their adult teeth and a strong urge to chew. Durable Nylabone are very strong and will never be pulled apart. However, a strong bite and constant chew will create indents overtime. If your dog likes Nylabones, they are some of the strongest products around. Try spreading peanut butter on one or soaking it in chicken stock for a couple hours to make t more enticing.
Kyjen Hardcore Firehouse - These products are made out of the same material that firman use. It is constructed if a tightly woven material that will not tear during a tug match. These items can survive a long time with a tough chewer, but becasue of it's woven construction, dogs can slowly pull apart the weaves. I gave these products a thumbs up becasue they are tough and they could survive an average chewer, BUT if you have an aggressive chewer who's sole purpose in life is to ruin everything, they will most likely use the tip of their top and bottom teeth to pull apart the woven fabric. This product is sort of a nuetral thumb product.
Buster Cube - As an interactive toy this can really keep your dog busy. They quickly figure out that if they toss it around and make it flip, treats will appear. I do however recommend a fairly large open space, becasue the cube will move around a lot and can get stuck somewhere which is no fun.
VIP Products Tuffy’s - These items are strong and last, but if your dog likes to sit and purposely pull on it with their sharp teeth, they could eventually create a fray which will only get woerse.
Orbee-Tuff - The balls are great for fetch and they make items similar to a kong that you can use to stuff with peanut butter.
Rope - Rope is very strong but can be pulled apart in strains. I recommend rope for tug games especially with puppies. Make sure tug is a fun game between you and your dog. Use tug to teach your dog "take it", "give", "leave it" or "drop it" commands.
TireBiter - These are okay. If your dog likes rubber and he find this fun, the nit is worth buying the largest one you can kind. My dogs can chew off tiny pieces but for the most part, it is stronger than the average toy.
Chuck It - If you do loves to play fetch, you need a Chuck It or HyperProducts Sling Shot. The Chuck It Extreme balls are better than the tennis balls, but they are not indestructible, so use them for fetch only and take them away for next time.

Paws Down
I won’t go in to details for the products that I do not recommend. My dogs were able to chew apart toys from the companies above. If you have a light or moderate chewer, these products may be good for your dog, but I do not suggest buying these toys if you have an aggressive chewer.
Dogzilla - These products are a thin blue rubber material that my dogs can tear apart.
JW Pet Ruffians - These products are not rough at all! Very thin rubbery material that a dog can chew apart.
Star Mark Everlasting Treat Ball - The treat inside th ball is strong and the fact that it is encased protects it from the dogs full bite, so the treat will last a long time. However, a smart dog will figure out that they can chew through the blue rubber material around the treat to get the treat out. Once the blue rubber gel like material is chewed and can no longer hold a treat, the object is useless.
Air Kong - Air Kong is basically a tennic ball but a little stronger. Five minutes with an aggressive chewer and it will be in pieces.
Ruff Toys
Okra - These are a clear blue gel like rubber. My dogs can pull little pieces off until they are destroyed.
Tug-A-Jub - This looks strong to me before I purchased it, however, with in five minutes my dog Jayden completely chewed off the purple rubber piece. Then, he started chewing the small opening of the plastic bottle and broke pieces off of that so that the rope could slide out. So now all I have is the rope. Complete waste.
